The Leggy Fidget Blob is The Sage Stitch's most-loved make — a round, squishy little guy with long dangly arms and legs you can knot into fidgets. It works up fast in soft, chunky size-6 yarn and only uses basic stitches (magic ring, single crochet, increases and decreases), so it's a friendly make for confident beginners.

The pattern
Gauge isn't critical — crochet tightly so the stuffing doesn't show through.
- Abbreviations: SC = single crochet · INC = increase · DEC = decrease · CH = chain · SL ST = slip stitch · MR = magic ring · F.O. = fasten off.
- R1CH 2 (or make a magic ring), SC 6 into the 1st CH or MR. Add a stitch marker. (6 sts)
- R2INC in each ST. (12 sts)
- R3(SC, INC) × 6. (18 sts)
- R4SC around. (18 sts)
- R57 SC, CH 1, skip a stitch and SC into the next ST (there should be a tiny hole now), SC 6, CH 1, SC into the last ST.
- R6SC around — as you work each stitch, don't go into the hole, go into the ST. (18 sts)
- R7(SC, DEC) × 6. (12 sts)
- R8CH 1, skip a ST, DEC into next, DEC again, SL ST, CH 1, skip a ST, DEC × 3. DO NOT FASTEN OFF YET — add the safety eyes between R4–5, about 3 stitches apart. (6 sts)
- Arms & legs (make 4)CH 12, SL ST into the 2nd CH from hook, CH 2, SL ST into the 2nd CH from hook, CH 2, SL ST into the 2nd CH from hook, SL into the start of the 1st finger/toe, SL ST back to the bottom, F.O. Make 3 more (4 total).
- Attach & finishTie 2 together for the arm fidget and the other 2 for the leg fidget. With your hook, pull an arm most of the way through the arm hole (keep the hand outside), and repeat on the other side; do the same for the legs. F.O., stuff, and sew closed. Embroider the mouth — ta da!
